"Beeville is an agricultural community in South Texas. Large cattle ranches as well as small farms and some oil operations surround this small city. Its population consists primarily of Anglos and Mexican Americans. They live together under social conditions that are still very traditional, if no longer feudal. One would never expect to encounter a curator/artist with the savvy of Michael Manjarris in this conservative city, much less a museum that would support such an original modern exhibition as Contemporary Outdoor Sculpture in Meditation Park "
